Tuna Sandwich Recipe

Tuna sandwich recipe, a tasty choice for a generous snack. There may be many variations, but my favorite one is the one that recalls my teens and was called tuna salad sandwich on the old snack chain close to my school.

Ingredients (2 people):

• 2 cans (7oz each) or glass-jar of good quality Tuna ;

• 2 tablespoons of mayonnaise;

• 2 tablespoons of ketchup;

• 1 tablespoon of Worcester sauce;

• 8 slices of toasted sandwich loaf;

• some lettuce leaves (optional).

How to prepare it:

Drain the tuna from the oli and put it into a bowl.Add the other ingredients (except the bread) and mix it very well, reducing it to a cream.

Taste it and adjust salt if needed.

Toast the bread and stuff it with the cream, adding lettuce if you like it.

It is wonderful if you prepare the cream before and put it into the refrigerator for some hours and then prepare it with bread toasted at the moment.

The contrast with the hot bread and the cold cream is perfect.

I like to eat in a healthy way. I do think the same way towards my family, as I do keep an eye on nutritional facts of each ingredient I use to cook. I do also use the good sense (in Italian buon senso) in the sense that I am not rigid and I do consider that if you don't exagerate, you can eat "not so healthy" food once in a while. I am telling you this regarding the Mayo present in this recipe; an ingredient that is often banned from a healthy diet and from my kitchen. This recipe cannot be prepared without it, and so, use it, maybe choosing a low fat brand as I do.
