Tips to Make Espresso
Tips to make espresso, how to make good coffee using an Italian aluminum coffee maker.
If you have already read the page about Italian coffee, you now understand how to make good coffee is important for Italians!
How many people drink coffee? It's difficult to say. According to Starbuck's about 117 million people drink coffee in America.
People sometimes worry about how much caffeine there is in an espresso coffee. There is less than in a regular coffee, as waters pass through the powder quickly and do not absorb all the caffeine.
How many calories are there in coffee? Less than one.
If you ask around for tips to make espresso, the first answer will surely be: a good coffee begins with a good blend. One of the best blends is Arabica. A lot of people prefer it mixed with some Robusta, to render it stronger.
But there's more…the main tips to make espresso coffee a real pleasure are:
First of all: coffee needs a good "Moka" (traditional Italian coffee maker) or an espresso machine. You cannot make a good coffee (intended as Italian type) using a coffee machine. It simply gives you another beverage.
A good Moka can be bought easily now. Go ahead on this page and check the shopping basket.
Remember to use an Italian coffee. I use Lavazza since I came to live here, as it is not so strong, but very tasty.
Another thing that makes the difference: the water. It seems quite stupid…but it's not. If you really want to have a real Italian coffee, why not buy some Italian still mineral water? You can keep it only for the coffee!

An important thing: when you put your Moka on the gas, leave it open! Do not keep it closed because the condensed water would fall inside your coffee changing its taste.
The most important thing among Italian coffee tips for me is: how to clean coffee maker. I know that coffee has some fat in it and that you feel like washing it with your normal kitchen soap.
Don't do that! Your coffee will always have a bitter taste.
Just as an example: I have a help at home, I mean, there's a lady that comes twice a week for cleaning. Well, I began to find my coffee tasting bitter and then, eureka! I decided to ask her if she was washing the Moka with soap. Guess what she answered me? Yes!
I have a steel sponge that I use only to wash it, always with no soap at all! Try it and you'll see how your coffee will be much better.
• If you have just bought a Moka, don't worry. You'll need to make some coffees before having a real good coffee. It is because even if aluminum or steel seems to be a material that do not absorb smells and other... it does! The Moka needs to have the coffee aroma fixed on it.
After all, the known Italian actor Nino Manfredi used to say in a Lavazza caffé advertising a great truth: "Il caffé dev'essere buono. Se no, che piacere é?" (=Coffee has to be good... otherwise, it's not a pleasure!).
