Tart Recipes

Tart recipes, this traditional Italian butter tart can be prepared in many ways. It can become one of the most tasty apple tart recipes or even be used to prepare mini pies.

You can eat it after a meal, while taking a coffee, as a snack, anytime.

It is that kind of genuine Italian pastry recipes, even if it's not always homemade, of course.

It is also very simple to do, and while baking in your oven, will spread such a pleasant aroma that your neighbors will come for a coffee.

You'll need:

Basic crust:

• 1.7 cups of wheat flour

• 0.8 cup of butter

• 0.8 cup of sugar

• 2 eggs

• grated peel of 1 lemon

• a bit of salt

Topping:

• about a cup of fruit jam

How to prepare it:

Take a pan of about 7.8/8.6in and spread butter on it. Then spread some wheat flour.

Put the wheat flour on a working table or top. Add the sugar and the salt, the butter and mix the more you can. Then shape it like a fountain and make a hole in its middle.

Put the eggs inside the hole and work it quickly. Leave it rest for 15 minutes.

In the meanwhile, take the jam, put it into a bowl and add some spoons of water, mixing it well. It helps not drying too much during the baking.

Take the pastry and enlarge it until covering abbundantly the pan, and separe a small quantity for decoration.

With the fingers make it adhere to the pan, specially along the boards. Put the jam inside taking care of distributing it well.

With the pasta you set apart prepare stripes that you put on the jam, forming the classical square design.

Put it into pre-heated oven at about 180°C/356°F for about 35/40 minutes. The crostata is ready when it becomes coloured.

tip #1: To prepare a chocolate one, use Nutella after baking the basis. Then put it again into the oven for just a few minutes.

tip #2: If you prepare an apple pie, use fresh apples and some apricot jam over them.

tip #3: Prepare exquisite fresh strawberry pie recipe adding some food gel over the fruits to keep them fresh and inviting.
