Parma raw ham pasta

Parma raw ham pasta, if you have some sliced parma raw ham in your fridge it is an excellent leftover ham recipe!

This Italian pasta sauce recipe with ham fits much better with fresh pasta. You probably have some shop where you can buy fresh tagliatelle. Otherwise you can use the frozen or common ones.

It is one of the most exquisite ham leftover recipes, but in the case you don't have parma raw ham at home, you can buy those pieces they usually sell on the counter (the beginning or the end of the ham). They cost less and are perfect for this recipe, as you can cut it in cubes instead of slices.

Ingredients (4 people):

• 0.88lb durum wheat pasta;

• 0.33lb of Parma raw ham in not so thin slices;

• 0.13lb of non salted butter;

• 1/4 of a medium onion, minced;

• a sprinkle of white wine;

• about 4 tablespoons of grated Parmigiano cheese ;

• salt;

• pepper.

How to prepare:

Separate the fat from the ham. Cut it into small pieces and mince the fat together with the onion.

In a small pan, put the butter and add the minced onion and fat. As soon as it colours, add the ham pieces. After a while sprinkle with the while wine, let it evaporate and give it a generous grinded of pepper.

In the meanwhile, boil the pasta in salted water, and then mix it with the prepared seasoning and grated parmigiano.

If you want an Italian red saucesauce (it's even better), just add 0.66lb of pealed tomatoes and cook for an extra 15 minutes.
