Learn Italian Language
Learn Italian language and culture online. Be able to understand a menu, to comunicate with local people and much more.
I was working as Public Relations in Rio, inside a big jeweler store, and I was thinking about what to do when a friend from my job began an Italian course. She showed me the books and was so enthusiastic that…I decided: I was going to study it too! (little I know then that I would marry in Italy and coming to live in Sardinia!).
I began to study it during Summertime and, I remember clearly that after 1 month I was able to explain Rio’s carnival to a nurse from Rome who was on vacation in Rio. Obviously I may have done a lot of mistakes, but we could understand each other.
It recalls Marcello Mastroianni, pizza, spaghetti, good food, fashion, wine, la dolce vita...
It seems that when someone decides to study Italian, it happens only for the pleasure of being able to speak some words while travelling through Italy or understand a menu in his/her favourite restaurant.
It is a latin language, with all verb tenses and adverbs; but it is not difficult. One can quite easily be able to express him/herself about trivial issues even not being able yet to conjugate all tenses.
Italians use some expressions very often, and soon you can feel confident with them. For example, to be sure the interlocutor is understanding, one often uses the short form: "capito?". (the whole sentence would be "hai capito?"). It is used in many occasions an english speaking person would say "ok".
Another common word is "prego", used mostly as "you're welcome", or "please" while introducing someone somewhere. Italians are very kind towards foreign people trying to speak Italian. Knowing a few words with good will allow you to visit Italy, have fun, eat and drink well. Nowadays learn Italian language is even more attractive as it’s possible online. It is easier without having to attend a course. I found a very interesting way to do it, click here to begin soon. |
