Before speaking this language, I already had a kind of fondness for it. So as quite everybody I know! It’s curious, but it seems that everybody have a hidden passion for it.
I was working as Public Relations in Rio, inside a big jeweler store, and I was thinking about studying another language. I was thinking about what to do when a friend from my job began to learn Italian fast. She showed me the books and was so enthusiastic that…I decided: I was going to study it too! (little I know then that I would marry in Italy and coming to live in Sardinia).
I began to study it during Summertime and, I remember clearly that after 1 month I was able to explain Rio’s carnival to a nurse from Rome who was on vacation in Rio. Obviously I may have done a lot of mistakes, but we could understand each other.
This language seems to lead to pleasure. Think about that!
It recalls Marcello Mastroianni, pizza, spaghetti, good food, fashion, wine, la dolce vita...
A lot of people seem to be lead to this sweet language not for the common reasons one may have, connected with job and career. It seems that when someone decides to study it, decides to do that only for the pleasure of being able to speak some words while travelling through Italy or understand a menu in his/her favourite restaurant.
