| Italian aperitif is another Italian tradition about food and driink. It's very common to see the bars crowded between 12.30pm and 13.30pm, with people drinking and eating some chips or other side dishes. Italian bars are very "used" by Italians. A lot of them have breakfast at the bar, drinking an
italian coffee
or capuccino together with a sweet pastry. It's also very common in Italy to use the bar as a meeting point or an occasion to talk about work. It's used to say "let's drink something" to a customer or a working partner. At about midday, most bars begin to put on the counter some chips, canapès, olives and so on. People who enters around that time asks for a drink and eats a little of these things. But what do Italians drink during this occasion? Well, you're free to drink what you want (please, don't ask for a capuccino!), as beer, soft drinks and so on. But the most common, I shoud also say most "typical" drinks asked are sparkling white wine or one of the many italian soft drinks called bitter, Crodino and so on. They are sparkling drinks (most of them are non alcoholic) that come in small bottles and usually are red or orange. They are usually served with ice during the warm season, and always with a slice of lemon or orange inside. They are very tasty and it worths the try! | |
