I began to learn how to cook Italian with no cooking lessons, but just looking, asking and trying. If I could do that, you can do it too!

So for Italian drinks, especially wine. Italian wine labels display a wide range of prices and there are many really good choices. Italian wines dominate the US market and there must be a reason for this phenomenon!

I learned to drink wine in Italy, where local wine costs less than water in most restaurants! A bottle of mineral water in a restaurant in Italy can cost me € 5, and a quarter liter of red wine € 3.

Italian drinks not only wine, of course! Tasty and typical beverages are often drunk as aperitifs (another local habit) or after a meal, like grappa or limoncello liquors.

I learned how to prepare a tomato sauce recipe and found out more about pasta types so that I could open a small spaghetti house in Rio when I lived there for a while - even if I had never had a cooking lesson!

Find out why Italian appetizers are great, choosing amongst Italian types of cheese and cold cuts. Add some fresh bread with a thread of olive oil and you will never forget it!

Each small center has its own authentic Italian recipes and they are jealous of it.

You may say,“Your pork sausage reminds me of the one I ate yesterday at dinner in a nearby city or centre”. You’ll probably hear this response. “No, they use this spice (example) and we don’t. We use another one!” It’d be quite an insult to have the same recipe!

This cuisine has many kid friendly recipes such as fried food based on fresh ingredients.

Other than the most known first courses, Italian cuisine has a lot of simple vegetarian recipes that counts on the freshness of the ingredients.

And last but not least, Italian dessert recipes are a great chapel of any cookbook. Begin with Zabaglione recipe (I really love this dessert that has not so many calories and can even fit a diet) - it is easy and will help you feel confident you can cook Italian with ease.

Foods in Italy are of major importance, as you can begin since the morning, with the smell of fresh Italian pastries on the bar just close to home or office.
