Food related articles: I wrote these articles to show some secret aspects of this well-known and loved cuisine.

A lot of people do not know much about European quality brands. It is an important factor to hel mantaining the traditional products recipes and know how.

The main European quality brands guarantee that the product uses specific ingredients from an specific zone and has to be produced following a disciplinary. Just to name the most known example: the Parmigiano Reggiano cheese. It HAS to be produced into a limitated zone of Italy, using certain breeds to have that result. The land does make the difference and that's why a cheese produced in Germany or China cannot have the same properties and taste. It is right to preserve these heritage.

Italian food quality

The Mediterranean diet originated in Southern Italy and bordering countries. Studies showed that people that followed that diet had less illnesses and a better quality of life. Nowadays most people in Italy still eat under Mediterranean Diet rules, even if have increased too much the intake of animal proteins like red meat.

The Interesting Mediterranean Diet

Nowadays Italy is experiencing a difficult moment regarding its traditions. Italians used to be very closed to foreign habits and now Italy is receiving a lot of people from other countries that are contributing to change Italians’ original tradition in many fields.

Traditional Food

One of the most read articles of mine is this one regarding cured meats. These are less famous products but I assure you there is nothing better than some thin slices of mortadella, prosciutto and salami as a starter …especially if you are hungry.

The Italian cold cuts have excellent quality and are used on Italians daily diet, from the sandwich the student takes to school that may have salami or prosciutto inside, to a quick starters ate at the bar in a pause, like melon with raw prosciutto.

Italian culture is not only related with its cuisine, of course. But I believe no other countries have so many beliefs regarding eating and drinking as Italians do. Pay attention to these few rules while interacting with Italians at table.
