Eat Pray Love Movie
The last film with Julia Roberts, Eat Pray Love movie, is having a large success of public. She is a very popular actress, with many fans that go to the cinema just because of her (I am one of these); but this time the story is also very attractive at first glance.
A woman who decides to take a sabbatical year spending months in each destination is interesting by itself. Much more if these places are Italy, India and Bali.
In an interview to an Italian magazine, she told that an important factor of this movie is that it was filmed in the real locations, something not so common nowadays being much more expensive.
Being in Rome instead of into a scenario made the difference. One of the first scenes in Roma shows her character while asking for a coffee in a crowd Roman bar. Well, bars use to be crowd, but not that much…But it is ok to give an idea of how Italians do live the espresso coffee moment every day.
Well, even if I had just eaten a big cup of popcorn in the cinema, I felt like eating those spaghetti! They are so real, and she shows such a pleasure in eating them that it really makes our mouth waters.
The Eat Pray Love movie reflects the original book written by Elizabeth Gilbert, and Italy is named and chosen by its food. It shows the importance of Italian food all around the world. Not known for ancient monuments, art or other cultural sites, but for…food.
The Mediterranean food diet is being recognized by Unesco for its valuable human non-material heritage, and so, it is even more logical and accepted that it may become a reason to visit Italy. People will not only look for places to visit in Italy, but also to what to eat in Italy! It’s a kind of new export product!
There are many movies about food and this one isn’t about food…even though it shows food in such an appealing and real way that I continue to read articles regarding the food presentation, preparation and food anecdotes regarding this film. Light gossips like Julia Roberts ate 7 slices of pizza in one scene; ate hot tripe at 8:00AM and so on.
