Dessert Pizza Recipe

A dessert pizza recipe is something quite new for Italians. About 20 years ago you could not find in Italy any kind of sweet or fruit.

The basis is always the same, prepare the dough for first.

The first choice needs a very typical Italian product: Nutella. This traditional (and delicious) chocolate and hazelnuts cream can be added to your dough and it's enough.

The fruit recipe is pretty simple the same. Prepare the dough and then add the fruit you prefer. The most used are banana and apple. If you use bananas, powder some cinnamon on them. If you use apples, powder some sugar too.

You can make a special match preparing a strawberry one with Nutella. Chocolate and strawberries go extremely well together. Try also a simple chocolate chip one, just adding the chips to your basic dough and letting it melt into the oven.

As you see, all these choices are so simple and require a few, but good, ingredients.

You can prepare a dessert with pizza for a kids birthday adding some Smarts chocolate chips over the Nutella basis.

A pizza is always a healthy snack for your children, salted or sweet. You can try bananas with cinnamon for a snack dessert pizza on a cold afternoon.

I don't like to add cheese (mozzarella or other) to sweet pizzas. I just think pizza dough, cheese and sweet fruit or chocolate just don't match. But it is only my taste, as I saw sweet dessert pizzas served with mozzarella just like any other salted one.

Buon appetito!
